Clasical Chinese medicine (CCM), a style of medicine built on over 2,500 years ago and has since been used as the standard of medicine in Eastern medical cultures. Chinese medical practice includes herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, diet therapy, and exercise. This approach of medicine looks at the body from a new perspective; utilizing the body’s vital energy, qi, which circulates through meridians close to the body's surface and have branches that connect to the internal organs to help influence the body internally. Concepts of the body and disease through the Chinese medicine perspective employ dynamic outlooks of the body as a whole, incorporating the mind, body and spirit. Health is perceived as a harmonious interaction within the body and its external influences, when disease comes this is interpreted as disharmonies within these interactions.
Dr. Gurevich practices both classical Chinese medicine and five-element acupuncture, which focuses on establishing emotional and physical balance within the body so that patients can achieve optimal health. This system utilizes the laws of nature to help diagnose and treat patients. Relying on natural laws, it recognizes that the health of a person’s entire body, mind and spirit must be taken into account in order to fully diagnose the cause of an illness. Only then can the most effective help be offered so that people can regain their balance and health on all levels.
