Ozone Therapy
Ozone is a colorless gas made up of three oxygen atoms. When the body is combating illness, it produces free radicals, which can lead to further damage in the body. A free radical is an uncharged molecule that has one unpaired oxygen, which is highly reactive in the body. If the body is weak, poorly perfused, or deficient in oxygen, the body will not efficiently eliminate toxins efficiently. By introducing ozone into the bod,y it pairs up the unpaired electrons and creates more stable structures that are dramatically less detrimental to the body. Ozone therapy can be administered through water and taken orally or inserted into a body cavity such as the rectum or the vagina.
Ozone therapy, first developed in Germany in the early 1950s, has been used to treat cardiovascular illnesses, digestive disorders, infectious disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, cancer, and many more. Most specifically, Dr. Gurevich utilizes Ozone therapy in the treatment of various digestive disorders such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
Dr. Gurevich uses rectal ozone therapy more than any other ozone treatment. An ozone filled bag is attached to a thin catheter that is quickly and easily administered. The patient self-administers the therapy that can be completed in a quick 15-minute process. Having the ability to directly administer the ozone to the site of inflammation and illness is an effective, targeted therapy to directly treat the site of disease and produce quick relief.
